• Working with Borgerstein's an organisation for people with disabilities. They execute some basic works in the garden at the factory location.

• 2008/2009

  • Employees volunteer their time to participate in landscaping, dry-walling, insulating, painting and build site maintenance through Habitat for Humanity a Voluntary Organization that partner with communities to build safe, decent and affordable homes for low income working families.

  2010

  • Participated in the Habitat for Humanity program. The program provides safe, decent, affordable housing to low income famlies in the Winnipeg area. CG Employees Volunteer their time and skill insulating, drywalling, painting, and landscaping the home.

Community :

• CSR communities are selected by Units based on the population of employees located in the villages and within a radius of 10-15 kms from the unit.
   
• The projects are identified through a needs survey carried out in the village. Projects are then prioritised over a five year period and executed on a yearly basis.
• The areas identified in the village are related to water, health, education, social infrastructure, sanitation and women empowerment.

• Nandurvaidya in Igatpuri District, had severe water scarcity as the storage tank in the village was in need of severe restoration. The repair job was undertaken and water lines laid across the village. A pump was installed that helped pump the water into the tank, making a sufficient amount of water available for the entire village to use during the day.
   
• Shevta Village located on the outskirts of Aurangabad had severe drought conditions. The CG Unit located at Aurangabad, worked closely with the villagers helping to install a pump at the source of the water supply, which helped pump water into the village tank. The result of this project has ensured 24 hours water supply not only to Shevta but also the neighbouring village and 20% more water to surrounding villages.
   

Health : 

• The Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Nandurvaidya, Igatpuri district, was in a dilapidated condition with no proper medical services. The entire centre was given a face lift, repairs, painting, waterproofing, electrification was done and equipment installed which included a delivery table and trolley for surgical instruments. Flex boards giving medical information replaced the old charts. The PHC has been developed on the lines of a model PHC, and makes it comparable with Indian Public Health Standards. The renovations have not only the villagers flocking to the Centre but people from the neighbouring villages as well. The success of the centre has made the local administration add an extension to the current building to help cater to the additional load of patients.
   
• In Kunkolieum Village in Goa, medical facilities and stores were unavailable and villagers had to travel a minimum of 6 kms.
   
• A Primary Health Centre was set in the village’s sports centre by CG and arrangements made for a doctor to visit on a fortnightly basis to examine patients and dispense medicines to those living there.
   
• In Hingangaon, Ahmdenagar, a health check-up camp was held in collaboration with the Anand Rishiji Hospital. A mobile van from the same hospital visits the village on a weekly basis and provides free medicines.
   
• Regular health check-ups are organised in Kanjur Village - Mumbai, Bethora Village – Goa and Pithampur.
   

Women Empowerment :

• CG strongly believes in empowering the women of the communities. The Kanjur Complex in Mumbai, works with 46 SHGs. 20 of these groups have been recognized by the Brihanmumbai Muncipal Corporation and each member has received a total of Rs.1,000/-. The total number of beneficiaries are 250.
   
• Fans Division organised a 3 month course in tailoring for the women of Kasarwara to enable them to generate a livelihood.
   
• LT Motors organised training in masalas and papad making for 30 women of Hingangaon Village.
   

Education :

• CG believes that true sustainability will be achieved if education is focused on, and several of the projects have concentrated on improving the infrastructure in schools.
   
• The school in Nandurvaidya catering to the primary and middle level education was renovated by Switchgear Complex.  Extensive renovations to the roof, floors, walls, electrical system, drinking water facilities and toilets were completed and the addition of desks, benches and cupboards ensured that the school kids have a comfortable environment in which they can enhance their knowledge.
   
• Lighting Division gave a facelift to the Anganwadi (play school) in the village of Gametha. The primary school in the village also received a coat of paint, desks and benches and the entire courtyard was paved with interlocking blocks. Toilets and drinking water facilities were also updated as were all the lighting and fans in the school.
   
• M6 Division, has undertaken to help the local school in Nimgaon Wagha, Ahmednagar. The first change was to set up a laboratory in the school, after which they helped the villagers by providing material for the school flooring, windows, plastering of the walls, desks and benches as well as erection of an electrical pole that has enabled the school get a supply of electricity. The unit has over the years also been involved in the students’ extra-curricular activities and arranged competitions in drawing, elocution and sports to help the children have a more holistic education.
   
• M4 Division provided the local school in the village of Kunkolium with a double swing and a slide for the school children in their playground.
   
• Western Region provided fans and light fittings to the primary school in Nihe village at Palghar and also started a small library in the school.
   
• The Ahmedabad Branch of Western Region adopted the Ramdev Nagar School in Ahmedabad which caters to the SC community exclusively. They have provided the school with desks and benches and have also set up a mini library for the students.
   
• Northern Region has set up a Graphics & Multimedia Training Centre in Sundernagri a suburb in East Delhi. The Centre runs 8 different courses and covers students from school and college levels.
   
• The Northern Region have also set up an Academy of Fashion Design & Handicrafts in Sundernagri, aimed at providing training to the girls from the weaker sections of society who lack training for want of financial resources. The premises were renovated and six automatic stitching machines, one fashion maker, three dummies, a LCD TV, were installed by CG. The Centre was inaugurated on 8th September, 2009 and the first batch consisted of 45 students. The students are also encouraged to create articles that are put on sale and help bring in income for the Centre.

• Giving Tree -- employees brought in gifts to give a local family Christmas. Company gave additional gifts.
   
• CG helped raise funds for United Way, a local area fund raiser that helps over 20 participating agencies. 
  
   
• The Accounting Team that won the Spirit Award for the chillie cook-off which  was sponsored by the company to raise funds.
  
   
• These employees donated money to enter a weight loss programme.  The Biggest looser won 50% of the money while the balance 50% was donated to United Way.
  
   
• Employees donated cloathing and household articles to raise funds for United Way.
