CG wins the CII Business Excellence Prize for 2010.
The Confederation of Indian Industry - CII based on an intensive audit process awarded CG the coveted Business Excellence Prize for 2010, thus catapulating it into the top league of the Indian Companies.
The award was received by Mr. S M Trehan, Managing Director and Mr. Wilton Henriques, Company Secretary & Legal Counsel and Global Head - Human Resources from Mr. Hari Bhartia, President Confederation of Indian Industry at an function held on 18th November at `NIMHANS Convention Centre, Wilson Gardens, Bangalore.
Instituted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Export Import (EXIM) Bank, the awards are given to companies in manufacturing and services sector in recognition of highest quality measured across various parameters by the CII`s Institute of Quality, based in this tech hub.
This award programme, which is based on the EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) Model of Excellence, is an effective mechanism to help CEOs and senior leadership of organizations to plan, implement and evaluate the quality of ‘Management’ in their organizations, in a comprehensive and integrated manner.
CII and Export-Import (EXIM) Bank of India jointly established the Award for Business Excellence in 1994 with the aim to enhance the `Competitiveness of India Inc.` The Award is based on the EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) Model for Excellence.
The Excellence Model is based on universally accepted standards and practices prevalent across the world. Apart from recognition, the model provides a holistic management framework to achieve Excellence.
