  •  typical DC Drive system would comprise the following:

    AC Input Power HT Circuit Breaker, Converter Transformer, Thyristor Converter, Digital drive regulator, DC Choke, Output DC Circuit breaker or Contactor. In addition, Dynamic breaking facility is also provided wherever necessary, for faster braking. In some cases, AC line reactor is also provided, when no separate input transformer is available. The drives are available in 2-Q & 4-Q as per the application requirement.

    ADD32 Regulator-tot-PLC/PC Interface Software Features:

    The ADD32 drive regulator can communicate directly to PLCs of following make thru soft connectivity-  Rockwell – Ethernet/IP

    •    GE Fanuc – EGD
    •    Schneider Electric - Modbus TCP 

    and thru hard-wired signals or thru additional add-on communication modules with PLCs of other makes.

    The ADD32 drive regulator can communicate directly to PC thru soft connectivity by using Drive maintenance software – ADDapt2000, that is compatible with Windows. The   ADDvantage-32 based DC Drives support an IEEE 802.3 Ethernet star structured network. The ADDvantage-32 supports both 100 base FX Fiber Optic and 10/100 base UTP Copper Ethernet media. Multiple ADDvantage-32 Regulators of various Drives can be connected with multiple PLCs, HMIs and program loader PC in a single Ethernet/IP Network in Star Topology, which enables seamless communication for process control.

    ADDapt2000 shall be useful for -

    •    Develop Parameter monitor screens for on-line monitoring & troubleshooting

     

    • A CGSTACK system implemented at Tata Steel, Hot Strip Mill, is for 5400KW/1000Vdc Motor reversing roughing Mill with hot redundant bridges in parallel for a maximum current of 20KA and has been implemented in 2006-07 in 12-pulse configuration.  This was completed in 36 hrs.
    • A CGSTACK system implemented at Tata Steel, Hot Strip Mill, is for 2670KW/1000Vdc Motor Finishing Mill with hot redundant bridges in parallel for a maximum current of 10KA and has been implemented in 2005-06 in 12-pulse configuration.  This was completed 24 hrs.
    • A CGSTACK system implemented at SAIL-DSP, Section Mill, is for 2500KW/1000Vdc Motor Main stand with hot redundant bridges in parallel for a maximum current of 2.4KA has been implemented in 2007-08 in 12-pulse configuration.  This was completed in 2 days.
